VR Seeding (3 replies)

Virtually all of the planter controllers I have come across this spring for VR seeding has required a seeding prescription that is written using 1000's of seeds or kiloseeds, meaning that if I want a rate of 35,000 per acre, I need to put 35 into Farmworks. This allows the prescription to run correctly but the plan report is incorrect. Is there a conversion I sould be using in order to write the prescription with 35,000 and have the output for the controller read 35?

I have set up a VRA Job using RTS On/Off. What I want to do is do a simultion on/off so I do not have to take the tractor 10 miles down the road to the actual fields or set up a "fake field" at the the growers shop. I am 60 miles from the grower and I would like to have everything working when I install it.
The steps that I am following are as follows. Under Config and Settings I select,"Manual Location Entry" I then open the "VRA job". When I click on "GO" I get the message "Unable to Open Comm for VRA". I then tried plugging the GPS antenna into the USB port. I then checked that I had GPS. Since I was indoors all I had was "Time" and other numbers that let me know that I was in right port. I then re selected "Manual location entry" but I got the same Unable to Open message. What am I doing wrong?

I have the farms/fields in the jobs tab right now for a planned farming job, I selected them and chose "word order, console" then write job data, chose folder G: which has the AgGps folder in it, and everything seemed to export just fine. I can see the the AgGps folder the lines, and boundaries are there but the ez guide is not reading them.

I've tried going to "data management" "load configuration" and selected "EZ office" and no luck with that.
Loading VRS prescriptions into FMX (1 reply)

I have been visiting with the support team (case # 00476776) about a message I get on the FMX after I select a prescription for a particular field saying the prescription is to large or complex and the results may be less than optimal (not the exact wording) The message offers a possible solution by selecting a larger cell size when writing the prescription. If I select OK the FMX will go ahead and load the prescription for the field. My dealer tells me not to worry about it and go ahead and use the prescription. When I wrote the prescription I used a cell size of 30' as that matches my planter width. I only seem to get the message on larger fields and not on smaller fields. I wrote another prescription on a 107 acre field that will be in corn next year using a 60' cell size and the FMX accepted it with no message. So I thought the 60' cell size solved the problem. When I tried the 60' cell size on another field the FMX give me the message again. Can anyone offer any other suggestions. I have some time to get it correct with our rain delays if only I knew what to do,

Last year I had rawson controllers and when some varieties because of sizing etc. got too high I manually dropped the population. I am running higher populations on the most fertile ground and dropping on the less productive . My question is with the prescription maps already set in the system at a desired population how do I lower them once I start planting? I have set them up at 5% less then desired which was common on some varieties last year but some were 10% (doubles). I am using RIB this year which my dealer says should help. I don't want to have to make two pres. maps for each field. Thanks
